Songs of Hope
On December 31, 2021, John launch his album 'Songs of Hope (Vol 1)'.
The album's debut was well-attended, with guests from all over the world. Participants came from Canada, the Philippines, Zambia, Botswana, the Seychelles, Zimbabwe, Malaysia, South Africa, Mauritius, and Madagascar, just to name a few.
The Guest of Honour was Pastor Ellsworth Mark Baxen, President of the Mauritius Seventh-day Adventist Conference.
The Director of Ceremony was Mr. Richard Moarabi of Botswana. The album includes a collection of uplifting traditional hymns played purely on violin, saxophone, and voice.
Despite the challenges we all face, the Director of Ceremony emphasised that hope may help us restore our optimism and heal our broken hearts. Pastor Ellsworth Baxen emphasised the importance of hope in his message, emphasising that we must not only wait for it patiently, but also cling to it. Mr. Wellington Manjengwa went on to remark that hope is necessary for survival and that we would perish if we did not have it. We must grasp the significance of hope and latch on to it. "We may face all of life's problems, but if we have hope, we can face them with confidence," he remarked, delivering a strong message that should resound throughout the next year.
Hymns performed includes: "Nearer, My God to thee." (Lowell Masson & Arthur Sullivan), 'It is well with my soul' (Horatio G. Spafford & Philip P. Bliss). Mrs Elvina M. Hall's 'Jesus paid it all', 'O For That Flame of Living Fire,' (William Hiley Bathurst), Robert Robinson's 'Come thou fount of every blessing,' and 'Rock of Ages' (Augustun M. Toplady & Thomas Hasting), 'Count your blessings', (Johnson Oatman Jr & Â Edwin O. Excell).
